Civil War battlefield of Shiloh 1862

Civil War battlefield of Shiloh 1862 where there were 23,746 dead, wounded or missing in 3 days. The greatest loss of life for Americans all wars combined to April 1862.
On the way there we drove the Natchez Trace (the pioneer trail from Nashville Tennessee to Natchez Mississippi) we passed through three states Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi it is a National Park Way you see no towns they try to make it like the old days, but a paved road.
 Shiloh Battlefield is in Tennessee

They still have cotton in Alabama

Amish Produce Auction Lawrenceburg TN

Went to an Amish Produce Auction in Lawrenceburg Tennessee 15 miles from Alabama State line. Where a lot of fruit stands, restaurants and small grocery stores buy their produce it was very interesting. I was able to buy 8 yellow squash, 5 green bell peppers and 9 tomatoes for $4.00  The Amish do not allow photographs, but I was able to take this one of a sign.

While  posting my blog a severe thunderstorm passed through our area giving us 6/10 of an inch of rain in less than 1/2 hour . A picture of the neighbor’s rain gauge. Still raining could get more a lot more lightning.
